These are some of the compliments we have received from guests

Painting from Cillstifiann by BJ Ryan, entitled "Low Tide"

The four of us absolutely loved your beautiful Cillstifiann! We tried very hard to keep it as neat as possible.Your travel instructions wereperfect. No problems at all, also your recomendations for dining. Great!

One of the highlights of our trip was being able to spend some quality time with Tom Frawley. He is a treasure. Tending the same pub for
an astounding 77 years, and with only two days off per year!
Thank you so much for all of your help in making our visit to the 'Green Isle' so very special. We four made a blood pact to return to the same spot in two years hence.
From our stays in Scotland, England and many locations in the USA, this beautiful Cillstifiann rates at the very top! The views of the beach and cliffs are spectacular, the location provides very easy walking access to all of theLahinch shopping, dining, pubs..etc, and Cillstifiann is such a lovely home!

(Hello Mary, My name is Ed Godfrey and I echo Harry's sentiments. On my first
day back at work I spent more time telling my co-workers about Cillstifiann
and the town of Lahinch than about the golf I played.)

We really enjoyed our stay at Cillstifiann. It was more beautiful than we ever imagined. You've done a phenomenal job on the house. I'm sure you already know its the talk of the town. As one Lahincher called it "The nicest house in Lahinch".
All was not perfect though, I am about 6 foot 2 and I must be about 3 inches shorter now from hitting my head on the way into the back room, the living room and the back hallway.
There is one other incident of note. Our son Tiernan learned to walk at Cillstifiann, that too is documented in pictures galore. The reading material was a real treat for me, the paperbacks about Clare history, the books on the Burren. I'm an overnight expert on turloughs, karst and grykes.

What a wonderful trip we had.......the accommodations are superb! The weather cooperated for the most part. We just love Lahinch; the people are so warm and friendly and are very fond of you. The location is perfect....we took a couple day trips to Dingle Bay and Kilkee. I will scan some pictures and send them to you. I took a photo of your cousin's house (I met his wife). I also met Ann, your housekeeper. The folks at Kenny's send their best. I hope we can meet sometime in the future. Jim and I cannot imagine a more wonderful place to vacation. We thank you Mary, and we appreciate your phone calls.....you are very kind.
Our very best,

I had such a wonderful time in Cillstiffian , you have made it into such a wonderful, comfortable, livable place. Thanks for sharing it. I hope you'll let me come back again. Cillstiffian and Lahinch and Clare seem even more peaceful and wonderful in view of what's transpired since we were there. Thank you again so much.

We would like to thank you for sharing your wonderful house with our family. We had a wonderful two weeks in Ireland and Lahinch was our favorite part. Everyone was so friendly and warm. We took a few of your suggestions and visited the numerous pubs including the likes of Galvin's, Kenny's, Mrs. O'Brien's and the 19th. I feel as though my wife spent my entire salary at Kenny's Woolen Mills and Sue's. The town was perfect. During our stay we did meet with my father's relatives from Galway. We visited the house where his grandfather grew up in Clombo, the church and his school. It was almost like that MasterCard commercial, a pint of Guinness $2 , a bowl of Guinness Irish Stew $ 5, spending time and seeing where your father's family grew up - priceless. Our relatives even came to Lahinch where we went pony trekking with our four year old and my cousin's children and took a swim at Seaworld and spent the rest of the day looking for periwinkles on the beach at low tide. Then all thirteen of us went to Kenny's pub for dinner. It really was lovely (as the true Irish would say). They loved Lahinch as well. Your house is absolutely lovely. We spent most of our nights there except for our trek to Dublin. We particularly enjoyed going to bed and hearing and seeing the waves hit the Lahinch beach from our bed. Our four year old insisted we keep the curtains open but it presented a problem in the morning when we got up to see a bunch of people on the promenade see us in our night clothes. It was fun. The surfers there are unbelievable, they would stay out there past 10:30pm on some nights due to the late sunsets. We definitely will be back and hopefully before you retire in your lovely Blue House by the Irish Sea.

I feel I know you well enough to call you by your first name even though we have never met personally. However, your presence was felt throughout these past two weeks while in your home in Lahinch so I hope you do not mind. Our vacation in Ireland turned out to be an experience I could not ever, even in my wildest dreams, have imagined. Touring Ireland again, after 13 years away brought back such wonderful memories, noticing many changes, having wonderful genealogy searching results and visiting places I had never experienced before. Lahinch was one of those places and Cillstifiann made it the perfect spot for experiencing Ireland again. We could not have found a more central spot to start our trips out from, and the house was so warm and comfortable. It was indeed ideal! The people, sights and the weather are as I had remembered and are all part of a memory I shall treasure. Barbara (BOJ) and I had communicated back and forth so often in planning the trip that after a while we started to question the rationality of making the decision on the house sight unseen: what would the area be like? the house? the town? would there be enough room for all six of us? would it work having all of us in the same house? etc. etc. etc. All of these doubts were erased when we pulled up and walked into the house on Saturday evening. We felt so at home there immediately. Meeting your sister Ruth when we were leaving on Saturday morning meant now putting a face and personality on the whole Cillstifiann experience and that was another real gift to the trip. My thanks to you for making this wonderful spot available to us.The general consensus of opinion when we were leaving was "we must return to Ireland again." Hopefully Cillstifiann will be a part of a return trip someday in the not too distant future.

I just wanted to write and let you know what a great time we had in Ireland, and how much we enjoyed staying at the house. You have a lovely home, and everything was perfect...We had everything we needed, and were occasionally reluctant to leave the house at all!! I'm sure Barbara will send you a copy of a few of the pictures she painted. Although it was raining most of the time during our week in Lahinch, it didn't stop us from doing anything except the Aran Islands. I hope to be able to return one of these days, and would welcome the chance to stay at Cilstiffian again.
Thanks again!!!

Wanted to check in with you now that we are back from Cillstifiann. We had a fantastic time.Your place is incredible. We loved how it is decorated and enjoyed the great photographs placed around the house..I particularly love the one at the top of the stairs (flat) of a woman and a small child looking at a flower.without having the benefit of knowing who was in the photo.I guessed that the woman was your mother. We went to church in Lahinch and happened to sit in the pew with the Comber memorial [to your parents (?)] we thought that was quite a coincidence.! We participated in the church's Corpus Christi procession around the town, quite an experience. We met John Creedon (used his driving services) he said he went to school with your brother. We also met the fellow who owns the Bayview Restaurant he said some of his family helped with the renovations of Cillstifiann (we were coached on proper pronunciation) The golf was humbling, I think I should take up bowling. great experienceWe went to Ballybunion to watch the pro-am event prior to the Irish Open starting. We ate at The Black Oak south of town, what a dining experience that was. incredible presentation of each of the courses quite a chef quite a view what a treat. (the next store neighbor recommended that one) My husband (a bit of a gourmet himself) really enjoyed cooking in the house [thus the source of some pantry inventory left behind].They got to know him at the local grocery shops he even used the butcher in Ennistymon twice (he makes a great Guiness marinated roast once he mastered the metric conversions with the oven...) We can't thank you enough for going into this rental businesst. the ability to rent Cillstifiann made the trip unforgettable. Many of the locals told us...(and we concur)...that Cillstifiann (or they referred to it as "The Comber's Place)...is the best location in town! So, true... Regards,

What a great trip we had! and the house in Lahinch was such a comfortable, convenient spot to call home for the week. We did many day trips and covered lots of miles. It's a beautiful country. We had some success in tracing roots too. We found the town and home that was birthplace to my grandfather. You may be hearing from some of the others on the trip as they fell in love with Cilstifiann as well. They may be emailing you with thanks. Ruth tells us that renting the house is a new experience and I hope it works out for you. I loved sleeping with the sounds of the surf. I was lucky to have gotten one of the front bedrooms. Once again thanks so much for your help in planning this wonderful holiday and for sharing your family home with us all.

Just wanted to write you a short note to tell you what a great time we had in Ireland. Cillstifian is just incredible! We loved it, loved Lahinch, and all of the Burren area so much. The work you've done on the housewas just so nice. It felt like home. Both Jourdan and I felt that we had the best time in Lahinch even though we enjoyed Dublin and Belfast. I know we'd both like to return again when its possible....maybe when the temperatures are a bit warmer. But the weather was quite beautiful most of the time even if a bit chilly.I will try to send a picture or two if I can and I would heartily recommend Cillstifian to anyone wanting to stay in western Ireland. Thanks again for
letting us be guests there!

Our trip and stay in Lahinch was just wonderful. The house is perfect:
whoever did the renovation did such a delightful job. My family was
enchanted as was I...with the view, the comfort, the overall atmosphere.
It's a very special place. Thank you and your family for sharing the
experience.
It's hard to believe that yesterday I was playing "fetch the stone" with a
shaggy mutt on the beach....just the two of us, in the rain. I hope we can
go back.

Best regards,
